This year's 15th edition of the Gozo Philatelic Exhibition, organised annually by the Gozo Philatelic Society, was opened from the 14th to the 21st of November, with the theme this year being "Maltese Anniversaries and Commemorations".
The exhibition is taking place at the Gozo Ministry Halls in St. Francis Square, Victoria. Aiming to encourage philately, the participation of the general public is free of charge. The exhibition will be open during office hours.
Various philatelic categories is featuring during the exhibition which are Postal History, Social Philately, Traditional and Junior Sections. The display includes antique and rare philatelic material and professional exhibits.
MaltaPost is taking part in the exhibition and a special postmark was issued for the occasion on the 14th of November.
The programme also included the relaunch of https://www.stamps-gozo.org under new webmaster John Luke Debrincat.

For the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the arrival of the statue of St. Coronato in Nadur, MaltaPost issued a commemorative hand stamp which was used on Saturday 8th November, 2014 at the Nadur Gozo Post Office. To mark this occasion, the Gozo Philatelic Society issued a commemorative postcard.
MaltaPost issued a commemorative special Post Mark on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the donation of the Bust of Saint Ursula, on the 21st October, 2014 from its Victoria Gozo Post Office. Following usual practice, the Gozo Philatelic Society issued a commemorative postcard.
The year 2014 marks the 150th Anniversary of the creation of a separate diocese for Gozo and Comino (1864-2014) and MaltaPost commemorated this occasion by producing a special handstamp, and was used on the 16th of September. With the encouragement of the present incumbent Mgr. Mario Grech, the Gozo Philatelic Society prepared 10 personalized stamps (designed by Anthony Grech aided Mgr. Joseph Bezzina as historical consultant) honouring the various Bishops of Gozo. These stamps are available as two se-tenant sheets or/and in the form of a set of ten cards postmarked with the handstamp.
For the occasion of the 150th Anniversary of the foundation of the Gozo Cathedral, MaltaPost issued a special postmark that was used on Monday 11th August 2014 at the Victoria, Gozo Post Office.
The Gozo Philatelic Society issued a commemorative card with a special limited edition postmark.
Four national anniversaries related to Malta's constitutional development occur during 2014:
Independence - 50 years;
Republic Day - 40 years;
Freedom Day - 35 years;
European Member - 10 years.
On August 2013, the Gozo Philatelic Society issued a monthly series of personalized stamps showing all Malta's Prime Ministers (since 1921 Self-Government).
