Caruana Dingli Philately exhibition with the Gozo Philatelic Society
A new exhibit highlighting the works of Edward Caruana Dingli on Malta stamps starting in 1922, has been set up by the Gozo Philatelic Society at the Il-Hagar Museum in Gozo.
This latest exhibit is to mark the occasion of a stamp issued in June showing a Gozitan scene of his – the corner known as San Gorg tal-Hagar in the old centre of Victoria. A 1927 print of this watercolour is on show too.
This exhibition can be viewed – together with other temporary exhibitions – during normal opening hours of 9am-5pm seven days a week. There is no entrance fee.
Il Hagar Museum is located in St George’s Square, Victoria.

As usual The Gozo Philatelic Society issued a commemorative card in a limited edition of 75.

Artworks in the National Collection
On Monday 8 June MaltaPost is to issue a set of two stamps in the SEPAC series. The theme for this annual stamp issue of the Small European Postal Administration Cooperations , is 'Artworks in the National Collection'.
The 30c stamp is from a painting by Edward Caruana Dingli which features a lady wearing the 'ghonnella' (a traditional headdress unique to Malta and Gozo) walking near the well known antique statue of 'San Gorg Tal-Hagar' in Victoria Gozo.
As usual when a Malta stamp with Gozo connection is issued, The Gozo Philatelic Society issues a card franked with the stamp and postmarked with the First Day of Issue handstamp. This card was issued in a limited edition of 70.
