SMOM Christmas stamps on display at Il-Hagar Museum in Gozo

Natalizia – is the latest exhibition by the Gozo Philatelic Society, which shows a large range of Christmas stamps – not excluding miniature sheets – issued by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

The exhibition is part of the programme of events for Christmas in Gozo, and is on display in their showcase on level -1 at Il-Hagar Museum, St George’s Square, Victoria, Gozo

Natalizia can be viewed until the 12th of January 2020 during normal opening hours of 9am-5pm seven days a week. There is no entrance fee.


MILIED F'GHAWDEX

On the occasion of 'MILIED F'GHAWDEX' MaltaPost issued a commemorative postmark from its Nadur-Gozo Post office on 30/11/2019. The Gozo Philatelic Society issued a card sent to all registered members for free.


President Vella impressed by philatelic exhibition

President George Vella opened the 20th philatelic exhibition organised by the Gozo Philatelic Society at the Gozo Ministry. Dr Vella extended his stay at the exhibition to well over an hour since he inspected all the exhibits, uttering words of praise and encouragement.

GPS secretary Antoine Vassallo gave an album to Dr Vella. The album, containing Gozo-themed covers, was designed by Anthony Grech. The exhibition remains open until Tuesday.

Christmas First Day Covers on display at Il-Hagar, Gozo

A temporary exhibition of Christmas First Day Covers, has been set up by the Gozo Philatelic Society at Il-Hagar Museum in Victoria.

The exhibition is part of the programme of events for this year’s `Christmas in Gozo,’ organised by the Ministry for Gozo.

The display concentrates on the first fifteen Christmas sets which Malta began issuing in 1964. Visitors have the opportunity to view these “primitive” stamps on First Day Covers, together with other items.

The exhibit is in the GPS showcase on level -1 and will remain on display until early January.

Among other temporary exhibitions also on display at the museum, is Teatru Astra’s Golden Jubilee, which runs until the 30th of November.

Il-Hagar is located in St George’s Square, Victoria, opening hours are 9am-5pm seven days a week – and there is no entrance fee.

19th annual Gozo Philatelic Exhibition opens this evening in Victoria

A reminder that this evening, the annual Gozo Philatelic Exhibition will be opened by the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana, at 5.30pm.

The exhibition, organised by the Gozo Philatelic Society, is being held at the Ministry for Gozo Halls, St Francis Square and will remain open to the public until Friday, the 9th of November. Entrance is free of charge.

To mark the occasion of the exhibition, MaltaPost has said that a special hand stamp will be issued on the opening day – Friday, the 2nd of November – at the Victoria Post Office in Gozo, at 5, Triq Sir Adrian Dingli, Victoria VCT 1441.

The Gozo Philatelic Society 20TH ANNUAL EXHIBITION

His Excellency Dr George Vella, President of Malta will inaugurate The Gozo Philatelic Society 20TH ANNUAL EXHIBITION
At the Gozo Ministry Exhibition Hall, Victoria.
The ceremony is due to start at 10.30am.



For the occasion MaltaPost issued a Special Postmark from its Victoria Post Office The GPS issued a commemorative card cancelled with this Special Postmark. The Exhibition will be open till 14 November during office hours from Monday to Friday and from 8.30am to 12 MD on Saturdays and Sundays. All are welcome to visit. Entrance is FREE.
